Get to know Dr. Matthew Page
Chances are if you live in the Crossville area then you have heard of the Eye Centers of Tennessee.
However, you might not have heard of one of the newest additions within our network of offices across the Upper Cumberland.
Drumroll please, everyone, meet Dr. Matthew Page!
Tracing his roots back to Crossville, Dr. Page represents the need for medical professionals to bring their knowledge and high-level training back to their hometown communities.
After he completed his undergraduate education at the Tennessee Technological University, Dr. Page graduated magna cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2017. During his training, he received a wide array of clinical exposure, ranging from comprehensive eye care to referral-based ocular disease management, including postoperative care, anterior segment disease, low vision, specialty contact lenses, and glaucoma. Winning numerous awards, including the Student Research Award, Precision Optical Laboratories Endowed Scholarship, and the Class of 2017 Clinical Award for outstanding performance in clinical rotations. He currently serves as a member of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, American Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. One of his professional goals was to become one of the first Board Certified Optometrists in our region.
“Crossville has and always will be my home,” says Dr. Page, “I knew from the moment I was accepted into optometry school that I wanted to come back here to practice.”
Dr. Page continues, “My first exposure to the optometric field began right here in Crossville as well. I gained 2 years of invaluable experience as an ophthalmic technician just before starting my education. The family atmosphere here in our rural town is what makes it such a special place and I will always strive to better this community in any way possible. My wife Kayla and I are active members at the Linary Church of Christ and we’re enjoying all of our free time with our 3 boys: Weston, Jackson, and Hayden.”
Eye Centers of Tennessee is always striving to offer the highest quality of eye care to all patients. The concept of integrating both ophthalmology and optometry working together is one of the key aspects of this achievement. One of the reasons why Dr. Page has chosen to practice right here in Crossville is the result of witnessing this process firsthand as an employee at ECOTN before his training.
“The technology at my disposal here at ECOTN allows me to positively impact patients on a daily basis,” said Dr. Page in closing, “The immediate influence this makes in someone’s life is a satisfying and rewarding experience for me as an optometrist.”
