Dr. Merritt’s practice, Sparta Family Eye Care, will become a part of the Eye Centers of Tennessee family on October 1, 2019.

The leadership team at Eye Centers of Tennessee announced today that David Merritt, O.D., is joining the ECOTN staff and that Dr. Merritt’s Sparta, Tennessee, practice will become a part of the ECOTN family on October 1, 2019. 

“Since we opened our first office over 30 years ago, our primary goal has been to provide our friends and neighbors with the best eye care in the region,” said Dr. Larry Patterson, Medical Director at Eye Centers of Tennessee. “By welcoming Dr. Merritt and his staff to the ECOTN team, we are expanding our services even further across the Upper Cumberland with a level of quality that has been at the fore of our minds for three decades.”

A Winchester, Tennessee, native, Dr. Merritt is a 1995 graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He has served the Sparta community for more than 25 years. As of October 1, 2019, his practice, Sparta Family Eye Care, will become an Eye Centers of Tennessee site. Dr. Merritt will continue practicing at that location — 130 S. Main Street; Sparta, TN, 38583 — but the location will be a part of the growing Eye Centers of Tennessee footprint.

At the new Eye Centers of Tennessee location, Dr. Merritt will provide many services, including eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease and injury, complete contact lens services including all specialty lens products, and frame styling.
